Love the photo. I'm always fascinated by graveyards. You get a real sense of history when you read (if you can!) the names on the gravestones.

this is awesome. Like lins honeyman, I love cemetaries. My father is buried in an old cemetary...some stone dating back to 1800. Others are legible anymore.

Thanks for your comment to my Happy New Yeat entry. I appreciated your thoughts and I loved the David Adam poem. Actually, it was the entry to the poem you used on the 3rd that struck me so closely. I've searched for his books and I finally found a place here in States. I plan to order Mirror Images. Thanks again.

make that three for having an interest in seeing names, dates, etc and thinking about their lives, the history at the time, etc. Great photo!

Thanks for your comments.

The graveyard is at St Mary's in Wooler. As I entered I was really struck by the mood of the place. It wasn't eerie; it didn't feel neglected. It felt lived in - a part of the local community. I couldn't spend much time there, as I found it at the end of our outing, so I couldn't stretch the patience of my family too far. I must go back and explore it properly one day!
